Sustainability
When you choose Kitchens MK, you are choosing a company that has sustainability and CSR at the heart of everything it does.
Part refit over full refit
If you keep your cabinets and only replace the doors or worktops, you are already massively reducing your carbon footprint, compared to a full kitchen refit. It is estimated that replacing kitchen doors could reduce renovation-related carbon emissions by approximately 77% compared with a complete kitchen replacement.
Electric vans
We are proud to be doing our bit for the environment by ensuring that all our company vans are fully electric, even though we suffer range anxiety from time to time. It is a price worth paying in our eyes. It is estimated that on average, businesses running an electric van over a diesel van over a year can see a staggering 4.44 tonnes reduction in CO₂ emissions!
Donations to local schools
D.T. departments in schools are currently struggling to acquire materials they need, because of huge increases in the cost of materials and also because most schools have been reducing department budgets as they feel the pressure to balance their books. Unfortunately, it is the pupils that suffer because of this, as their learning is compromised not having the materials they need. We are proud to declare that where possible, we donate some of the materials we take away from kitchen jobs to schools in and around Milton Keynes. So just buying a kitchen from Kitchens MK means that you could be indirectly helping young people in their educational experience.
Trade waste licence
As we have an official trade waste licence from the Environment Agency, what we cannot donate to schools, we dispose of legally and responsibly. Metal, wood and cardboard are recycled and the rest goes to government-approved landfill, giving you peace of mind that your waste will not end up where it should not be and therefore not potentially harming the environment in some way.
